Hello there, as the Berlin real estate market is heating up, we just made more room in Schöneberg with remixes by 2raumwohnung and Der Dritte Raum. We must say we are more than chuffed to finally announce this, since Marcos and Mijk are both huge fans and long-time friends with both of these extraordinary German artists and both remixers have truly achieved to blend our original track perfectly with their respective musical trademark style and sound.
Inga Humpe and Tommi Eckart have been playing the original version off the Berlin EP often in their DJ sets, which finally led to their inspiration for their track 1993 off their Nacht & Tag album. Their remix does not just jam on the irresistible groove but pays homage to the chord theme, that just seemed too delicate to touch for many a remixer in the past. It’s a wonderful modern update to our 25-year-old classic.
Der Dritte Raum mastermind Andreas Krüger talked with Mijk about Schöneberg on a Christmas party last year and how much he would love to remix our tune and was pleased to hear that we were just in the process of planning new remixes anyway. He reconstructed the whole track with MIDI and his machines and remixed it from there, to achieve his unique DDR jamming style.
So together with the wonderfully trippy Tim Engelhardt Remix that we already revealed in March, we’ve counted “one, two, three” now.
Check the new spaces (2raumwohnung in German: two-room apartment, Der Dritte Raum in German: The Third Room) in our residence called “Schöneberg” NOW on Soundcloud and share your house guest experience in the comments.
