#ThrowbackThursday, this time wayyyyyyyy back into the 80s, based on a brandnew book about the Fast Weltweit Kollektiv from East Westphalia (which is a contradiction in many terms already…😅), which is out TODAY!
Back in 1987 I was playing bass in the band Jetzt! and in 1988 was the temporary bass player for Die Sterne and Die Bienenjäger (the precursor band of Blumfeld) at the BID (Berlin Indepence Days Festival). The music of Jetzt! was released 40 years later on @tapeterecords as a compilation, also 5 songs that I was involved in, including "Kommst Du mit in den Alltag", which was later covered by Blumfeld on their "Old Nobody" album.
Chirstof Dörr's book is an oral history of an overlooked period in German music which would finally lead to the Hamburger Schule and a new kind of Indie Poprock Bands with German lyrics. The book is out today!
