Last Wednesday I had the great honour of presenting an evening of the "It's Just a Matter of Time" series at the @palaispopulaire on Thursday, introducing many contemporary witnesses to what was then the GDR's most exclusive club, the former Opera Café. Everyone had inspiring and often unknown stories to tell about a time that is still far too little documented: the discotheque scene in the GDR.
The guests included: Thomas Glass aka Tute, Abini Zöllner, @heidi_ramskugler, Frank Büttner, @oliverkoerner, @friedrichloock, Oliver Marquardt aka @dj_jauche, and @thelangenfeld .
Many thanks to the PalaisPopulaire by @deutschebank for this wonderful opportunity to deep-dive into German musical history.
