Last Saturday I attended the CSD in Oranienburg. It can't be compared to larger CSDs like in Berlin and it was't a hedonistic fun parade either, more like a demonstration against the rise of Nazi ideology in Brandenburg. The counter-demonstration consisted of perhaps 30 aggressive-looking young Nazis. Later they attacked one participant of the CSD after-party and beat them so badly that they had to be hospitalized.
Last Sunday the ultra-right political organization AfD won 30 percent of the vote in the federal election in Brandenburg. It is a shame that this is happening now and here, just a stone's throw away from former concentration camps where Nazis committed the worst crimes against people and humanity.
When will people finally understand that fascism is not a solution to their problems, but only makes their problems worse?
