Hey Kids, today's treat is a picture of my so-called "Carrera Lab" which was situated close to Rosenthaler Platz in Berlin-Mitte during the 00-years. This is where I created my "Everyground" album and my PS2-soundtracks for Ridge Racer V and Armored Core 2 as well as collaborations with Tobynation and Namito.
As you can see, it's still hardware galore: drum machines, samplers, rack synths and recording was still being done on DAT.
This studio was a great place because we had a community of studios here, first Tanith, Circuit Breaker and the whole Bash Records/ Timing Records posse.
Later Monika Kruse and Sebrok.
Jack Flash aka DJ Jauche was always there next door, where he produced so many of his Machomovers and Robin Masters Orchestra gems as well as the DAF album "15 neue Lieder von DAF" from 2003.
Some of the greatest memories from these years are our studio barbecues in summer and discussions about soccer with DAF's Gabi Delgado.
Great vibes = so important!
BTW: that magic place is no more.
It has been replaced by a hotel (…what else… 😉
