Here’s why I think that the Hamas attacks on Israeli are a 9/11-moment for Israel.
Just when Benjamin Netanyahu was about to strip Israel it’s democratic values, when 100.000s where protesting against Netanyahu and his regime, Hamas attacked Israel.
Now Israelis seem to have no choice but to stop protesting and gather around that government again no matter what, because what’s the choice, in a country surrounded by enemies? Allegiance or death.
9/11 helped George W. Bush to stay in power after an all-time-low in US polls. The US citizens flocked around him, opposing ideas seemed like treason and the US response sparked another war in Iraq and opened another open wound in the Arab region that so far has spawned so much pain and tragedy.
I am afraid (and unfortunately almost certain) that the Hamas attacks have given Netanyahu the chance to carry on his regime and there will be more casualties every minute.
Don’t be mistaken: War Lords will cry for revenge and have innocent people killed and other War Lords will cry for more revenge and have more innocent people and so on. Who can stop this cycle of death?
There are many hobby politicians now giving their very personl advice.
I’m not a politician at all. I have no solution to offer whatsoever.
But my thoughts are with all the innocent casualties and their friends and families, wether they may be Israeli or Palestine..
My thoughts are also with all Israelis who oppose the Natanyahu government but have no choice now but to play ball.
Especially I am shocked by the events around the Nova Music Festival, because this is something which directly affects my very personal world: imagine you visit a music festival, you feel at ease with all your people – and suddenly terrorists invade the festival ground and kill people and take hostages.
It’s as shocking as you might think it could be.
