Wednesday’s Rwanda Adventures Part 3:
and now for the tougher part of the day, a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre, exhibiting the history and atrocities that happened in April 1994, when the Hutu majority literally slaughtered the Tutsi minority.
Just watching the movie Hotel Ruanda is only scratching on the surface of what really must have happened.
It’s also impressive how this torn country over last decades has drawn conclusions and taken action to help heal the wounds of this desaster.
While right-winged people wage hate and division again in Europe and elsewhere, I do hope even more that the Rwandans may succeed in their complicated path to unity.
