Military TuneEnter the Shinto Shrine. Out now only in Japan: a CD with remixed video game tunes all taken from classic games by Square Enix. purveyors of such legendary titles like Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest. I however picked a melody I’ve been listening to so often when playing Tobal No. 1, a fighting game from 1996, relatively unknown out of Japan. The characters in this game could move in a very three-dimensional way and perform extremely good-looking moves. And they have been designed by Akira Toriyama of Dragon Ball fame.
Here’s a Playthrough video.
The compilation CD is called Military Tune – The Album and features remixes by my German buddies Thomas Schumacher and Hardfloor and Japanese producers like DJ Sodeyama, Wata Igarashi, The KAH, Takuya Yamashita, SAMURAI UNITED and Ryoh Mitomi. The remix of yours truly  is Track 10: トバルNo.1 “SHINTO SHRINE” (Mijk van Dijk Remix).
You can check snippets from that compilation on the Japanese Amazon website.
Here is a link to the official website of the release.
And you wanna check the original version conceived by legendary game music composer Yasunori Mitsuda.
