The 4 Seasons Of The MindSo glad I finally found this TV advertisement from 1996 for the first generation Renault Mégane car on YouTube. The featured music is my song The Wildlife off my first Mijk’s Magic Marble Box EP on Superstition Records in 1994 called The 4 Seasons Of The Mind. It was the first time, my music was synchronized on TV. And this spot was running almost all the year of 1996, especially during the Euro 1996 football championship, that the German team led by coach Berti Vogts and captain Jürgen Klinsmann successfully won through the Golden Goal by Oliver Bierhoff against Czech Republic in the Wembley stadium.

I first heard of the commercial during a Superstition Label party at Unit Club in Hamburg on April 5th 1996. Steve Bug came to me and said that he had seen a TV advertisement off my first Mijk’s Magic Marble Box EP on Superstition Records in 1994, called The 4 Seasons Of The Mind.
The song The Wildlife incarnated the season Spring on my EP, with all it’s liveliness and zest for life. Now that EP seemed almost forgotten already, covered by the success of Marmion’s Schöneberg and my latest releases. So at first I couldn’t believe it but others came congratulating and Superstition label boss Tobias Lampe told me about the fast negotiations. I was super proud to receive that kind of recognition for my piece of music and finally felt like owning the party. And it was a hot party! 😉

P.S.: A couple of years later I worked closely with Toru Nagamine from Sony Office 7 on the Japanese releases of my albums. All his friends called him “Megane-san”, since he wore glasses and glasses translates “megane” in Japanese. Maybe one of the reasons why we got along so well.
