Motherfunk #34 – Sir Duke

Billy Cobham George DukeOn August 5th 2013 Jazz Funk Fusion keyboard legend George Duke sadly passed away. motherfunk Episode 34 on BLN.fm is paying tribute to this musical genius.
Jazz, Funk, Fusion, Rock, Pop – no other musician could go through the motions of such diverse styles of music and still be able to leave his trademark fingerprint sound on each and every recording. A Jack of many trades and Master of all: keyboard player, songwriter, producer, musical director.
He played with such diverse artists like Frank Zappa, Stanley Clarke, Michael Jackson, Flora Purim, Jean-Luc Ponty, Raul de Souza and of course the creme de la creme of US-American studio cats.
His musical heritage spans more than 30 albums.
Another highlight in his career was being musical director of the Nelson Mandela Tribute Concert in London’s Wembley Stadium in 1988.
Mijk van Dijk, also known as Multi-Mijk introduces you to some of the many facettes of Multi-George.
And of course – as usual – to the latest NuFunk Tracks.
Boogie down Funksters.
