Interviews + TV
In 2008 the fine documentation “We Call It Techno” was released on DVD. It was to my knowledge the first proper documentation of it’s kind with many to follow.
Today I would like to post a recommendation for “Raving Iran”, a movie about the Techno scene in Iran,
Last week on June 15th I played a special vinyl DJ set for the presentation of the brandnew and very limited Technics SL-1200 GAE turntable at Kisuna Arts & Records Pop Up Shop in Berlin-Mitte, actually also using it in my set.
Minmon Kollektiv from Potsdam/ Germany did an E-Mail interview (in German language) with me while I was on tour in Japan and also requested a DJ set. I send them the first hour of my freshly squeezed recording of my DJ set from Acid Room in Sapporo/ Japan this July 19th.
Yesterday I was invited for an interview and short DJ set at music share web TV in Tokyo. Later my friends Toby Izui, Kaori and Hardy Hard popped in and the interview became really deep. I was really happy not only to discuss my affection for Japan and my latest projects.
Yesterday I played a DJ set at DOMMUNE, the famous Japanese DJ web TV. The concept may look similar to Boiler Room, but Dommune is already since more than 5 1/2 years in session and their live video editing stands out so much, it reminds me of LSB.tv. It was my third time at Dommune […]
So glad I finally found this TV advertisement from 1996 for the first generation Renault Mégane car on YouTube. The featured music is my song The Wildlife off my first Mijk’s Magic Marble Box EP on Superstition Records in 1994 called The 4 Seasons Of The Mind. It was the first time, my music was synchronized on TV.
I just discovered this Techno Lexikon at a friend’s place, published by Raveline Magazine back in 1998. Funny to read about myself from the perspective of a point of time passed long ago.
Yesterday I was invited to take part in a press conference on the presentation of Berlins Weg in die Wolken, a new book by Hagen Liebing about the Europa Center building in the West of Berlin, which was erected in 1963. Several contemporary witnesses like the architect of the building Ivan Krusnik, the post man Wolfgang Giese-Miezal, comedian Hans Werner Olm, […]
In June 2014 Mijk van Dijk gave an interview to Italian DJ Mag which was published in the issue #42. So far this was only published in paper print, not online. By friendly permission of DJ Mag Italia we are now able to post the first big feature of Mijk van Dijk in an Italian magazine.
Yesterday night’s session at LSB_tv was quite amazing: the whole scale was larger, wider, bigger. We recorded in the big studio at Alex-TV and had an impressive video installation. Several acts from the Liquid Sky universe would meet and play. I had just returned from my gig at Weberknecht in Vienna and was about to play […]
Once again on October 25th I’m gonna join Dr. Walker and my Liquid Sky Berlin family for an ambient electronica session at LSB-TV.
